Featured Before & After - October 2009

Interviewed by: Mike Hall

WP: Jens is from Denver, Colorado. He has tried for 41 years to gain weight. So many people these days are trying to lose weight, not gain. Not too many people consider the person trying to gain. When you read this interview you will see the trails and pains that Jens had to face while being called, "Skinny" all of his life. You will also find out a product that has helped him to finally gain 20+ pounds and have changed his entire life around.

Could you tell me what challenges you faced to gain the weight?

JK: Yes, my problem was having to eat many times a day.

WP: What was the lightest weight got before you realized it was time for a change?

JK: 165 pounds was the lighest weight.

WP: Now that you have gained the weight, looking back, how did you feel about yourself when you were underweight?

JK: I never felt good about myself; with my body that is. I feel people who makes that statement hide the real truth.

WP: Did you find yourself hiding your body when you were under weight?

JK: Yes, I did! I hide it all of the time.

WP: To what extent did you take to gain weight?

JK: I tried many, many products and none helped. I even tried eating 1000 calories a day more then I normally would.

WP: How much do you weigh now?

JK: I weight 168 pounds now. Finally! I gained over 20 pounds so far.

WP: If you could tell someone who was underweight anything, what would you tell them? How would you motivate them enough to make them want to lose weight?

JK: Take pictures and believe in yourself!

WP: While gaining weight, did you ever consider giving up? If so, why and explain how you were feeling.

JK: Yes, for years I tried to gain weight with no success and did not think it would be possible to ever gain the weight. So, I thought about giving up!

WP: How did people treat you or "see you" while you were “skinny”?

JK: Exactly that! Skinny! People told me over and over, "Oh, you could look better with some more weight on you". I got so tired of hearing that and being treated like that.

WP: I bet it was really hard when you were trying your best to gain. People don't realize how their words can actually hurt someone. They don't think before they talk. What was the hardest part of being skinny, that you can remember?

JK: Being called skinny was the hardest part. To me, that was an evil word. It was like someone would call someone fat. How do they feel?

WP: If people would put theirselves in other people's shoes, they would realize it. I promise they wouldn't like being called names like that. Did a point ever come to where you felt that no matter what you did, you were made to be skinny for the rest of your life?

JK: Yeah, as you noticed I never gained until I was 41 years of age.

WP: 41 years of being called names. That is really sad! Tell me, were there some little things you did to help control your feelings and thoughts about yourself while you were gaining weight?

JK: I believed in myself that I could make the change. That, alone, got me through.

WP: I am so proud of you! I understand that you tried many products and nothing worked. You tried one product and found that it did work. There are so many people out there would love to hear this product. You are not alone. There are many people out there that would like to gain weight. You found help with Muscle Tech's products. What did Muscle Tech do to help you?

JK: It was MuscleTech Cell-Tech Hardcore. I like the fruit punch. I followed their directions and believe this product helped my goal. Like I said, for 41 years I didn't gain weight until I started this product.

WP: How long did it take you to gain your weight?

JK: It took me about 12 weeks.

WP: How did your life change once you started gaining weight?

JK: I began to become positive and my self confident about how I look and how others may see me changed. Muscle Tech has really changed my life.

WP: What have you accomplished since you have gained weight?

JK: Other then my entire life changing? I am now able to help others. They ask my advice all of the time on what I did to change my physique.

WP: Compare your diet now to that of when you were lighter. How do they differ and what changes have you made in your diet?

JK: There's a huge difference! I eat 6 times a day; every 2 hours. I make sure I get carbs, protein, vegetables and fruit at each meal.

WP: How do you feel about yourself now?

JK: I feel secure and firm when I walk around with out a shirt.

WP: That might actually sound "small" to some people, but those words are very explosive to a person's quality of the life. What keeps you motivated now?

JK: Both of my son's are served in Iraq and they are both safe so far. I’m proud of them and what they do for our country. That is what keeps me motivated.

WP: Just keep praying for them. What is the one food you still love and eat although you know it's not good for you?

JK: Once in a while I eat a Burger King chicken sandwich.

WP: Outside of working out, what is your next love?

JK: I enjoy hiking, biking, running and BMW cars.

WP: Any future projects?

JK: No, not at this time. I would like to get in to fitness modeling.

WP: What makes you?

JK: Knowing that I have accomplished something that I never thought was possible.

WP: What makes you happy?

JK: Helping other people is what makes me happy.

WP: Thank you so much for this interview. You keep staying positive!
