WP: Hi Jessie! Thanks for making time for this interview! Your new website looks great! We, at World Physique, are truly intrigued by you and want to know what you’ve got going on. Let’s start by having you tell us a little about yourself!

JG: Sure thing! And, thank you for asking me to do an interview with you. I love your site! I’m 23 years old and originally from Iowa where my parents raised me to have very high morals, standards, and values throughout my life. I am also the Youngest Natural Pro Bodybuilder in the USA (in the WNBF), a Pro Wrestler for WFX Wrestling in Canada, have starred on CBS’s Big Brother the past two summers, and I’ve been cast on MTV several times. I’m also proud to say that I’m Mr. Natural Iowa 2008, as well as a Professional Fitness Model.

I am also sponsored by the very prestigious sports supplement company, GENr8. They helped shape my physique into the world-class condition that it is in today. Their website is www.genr8speed.com.

My official nickname is: The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Mr. PEC-Tacular.

My favorite quote is:
"I have the Physique of a World-Class Bodybuilder,
The Strength of a World-Class Powerlifter,
And The Intellect of a World-Class Scholar.
I am The Man, The Myth, The Legend...Mr. PEC-Tacular!
TAKE IT ALL IN!"

WP: You are quite accomplished for being only 23 years old! Your bodybuilding career began at a very young age. What attracted you to natural bodybuilding?

JG: My entry into the sport of Bodybuilding began during my senior year of high school where I wrestled at a weight of 145lbs. After I graduated, I went to the Community College near my home and used that gym daily, in conjunction with protein and creatine supplements, to start making dramatic improvements in my physique. I also started to eat more...a lot more.

Fortunately, I either had really good genes or a great workout ethic because my body slowly changed. In fact, within a year, I was up to 160 lbs. of solid muscle and my friends and peers were actually beginning to accuse me of using steroids; but I wasn’t, of course! In fact, I didn’t have the money, knowledge, or inclination to ever use drugs.

As a result of the naysayers, though, I felt obligated to show them that I was completely clean, and I wanted to find the strictest testing organization to compete in: The North America Natural Bodybuilding Federation (www.nanbf.org). I immediately joined and couldn’t have been happier to do so. To ensure that we are completely clean, every competitor has to take a urinalysis and a polygraph test twice by a trained cop or professional prior to every competition. And, needless to say, I ALWAYS passed!

WP: Good for you for staying natural. An exceptional physique can be achieved the natural way, and you’re living proof! So, tell me about your first competition!

JG: Well, at the ripe old age of 19, I entered into the Teen and Novice Classes of the NANBF. I ended up winning the Teen, Novice, and Overall Novice! I was even told by other competitors that I had a knack for the sport and to pursue it further.

So, I decided to enter another competition 2 weeks later, and I ended up again winning the Teen Division! I was on a role!

WP: You definitely were! Now, this is truly phenomenal! Tell us about the day you won your pro card.

JG: That big moment was on May 20th, 2006 at the Iowa show (having just turned 20 years old less than a month earlier), and that’s the date that I’ll never forget. I went up onstage to compete against people who weighed upwards of 230 pounds and, in some instances, were even in their mid-thirties. Yet, I still beat them handily! So, at the tender ago of 20 and weighing in at barely 170 lbs., I actually won my pro card!

I had done what the naysayers had told me was impossible, but I knew it was always possible…NATURALLY. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind! And, there’s been no looking back!

WP: Again, just amazing! Your last show was the 2008 WNBF Mr. Natural Iowa. Do you see yourself competing in bodybuilding again?

JG: Yep, I actually won the 2008 WNBF Mr. Natural Iowa contest! And, I definitely see myself competing in Natural Pro Bodybuilding events again. But, for right now, I’ve made Pro Wrestling my more urgent priority.

In fact, I was absolutely honored to have my first official pro match for TNA in Florida last December, and I am now equally as proud to be wrestling internationally for WFX Wrestling up in Canada! It’s an unbelievable prestigious honor to be a major part of the future of both organizations.

By the way, if you’re unfamiliar with WFX Wrestling, you can check them out at: www.WFXWrestling.com.

WP: You have been invited by William Leecan with the Visual Art Physique Model Competition. I hear that is a great competition and they are doing great things. Can you tell us about that and when it will be?

JG: It is my sincere pleasure and privilege to accept the invitation by World-Class Classic Physiques', William Leecan, to emcee The 2010 Visual Art Physique Model Competition to benefit The AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta. I am exceptionally flattered and humbled to be asked to host an event for such a worthwhile cause, and, I have the utmost respect for William Leecan for being a strong advocate of such an important organization. I am eagerly looking forward to helping make The 2010 Visual Art Physique Model Competition a huge and memorable success for all parties involved.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 12th, at the new Porter Sanford III Performing Arts Center in Decatur, GA, and I hope to see all of my fans from the worlds of Bodybuilding, Wrestling, and CBS' Big Brother in attendance. It should be a blast!

WP: You created the 2010 Bodybuilding & Fitness Awards Show Concept for FLAPJACK Enterprises. What is this awards show all about?

JG: It’s a one hour awards special that I created with a good buddy of mine who is a television executive. It’s scheduled to be produced in conjunction with a very prestigious fitness publication, and it honors athletes who are fan favorites in the sport of Bodybuilding and other similar sports. I can’t say anymore about it at this time though!

WP: Enough said! You have made quite a few appearances in fitness magazines; what were some of your features?
