Interview With Lilly Ruiz
Featured Model - August 2010

Interviewed by: Carrie Ann
(WP): It's great having you here with us today, Lilly. Let’s begin with you telling our viewers a little about yourself.
My name is Lilly Ruiz. I am a model, actress, bartender, photographer and a Real Estate agent, as well. I guess I like to do a bit of everything. I have been modeling on and off for 4 years now and I enjoy everything about it! I’ve been published in many magazines and I hope many more to come! I just started doing photography recently and I love being behind the camera just as much as I love being in front of it!
(WP): What has been your stepping stone to get where you are today?
You know, I never even thought about modeling until 4 years ago, and although I started way later in life than most models do, I'm so glad I did. I am still working hard at pursuing my goals and dreams; there are many more things I want to achieve. But, being published was one of my goals and has been in several magazines, not yet enough though! I want to have many more things to talk about in the near future.
(WP): What has it been like to maintain your physique? Have you done anything different lately?
Let's just say I am one of the lucky ones. I guess I have really good genes and don't have to work too hard to maintain a good physique; although it is very important to eat healthy and go to the gym. I haven't done anything different that I normally do and I feel blessed as I know how hard it is for most people to keep in shape! It is lots of hard work and I have lots of respect for everyone that works so hard to be healthy and set an example.
(WP): Where do you reside now?
I reside in Las Vegas, NV and I love this city! Although, for a lot of people, this is a party town, we locals see it differently. We live and work here, it is not about the strip or the clubs. But, it does feel good to live in a city that is open 24 hours, especially if you're a night person.
(WP): Have you ever played any type of sports or activities?
I was always into fitness and aerobics. I did try Shotokan when I was a child and I loved it. I wish I never stopped but; I did. I wouldn't mind doing it again. Now that we're talking about it, I might just go take some classes.
(WP): Tell me about your family. In addition, are you married, single, or dating?
I have the BEST family ever, although I haven't seen them in a very, very long time. They're always in my heart! I always get my parents my brothers and sister's support in everything I choose to do, even from far, far away!
My older brother has always been into bodybuilding and fitness; he even won a couple awards back in Romania. I’m so proud of him. He's always been my role model, although he stopped due to too much work. He's still in great shape though! Sometimes you just wish you find a sponsor to help you out with your goals because it is very hard to train when you constantly have to work.
Also, I am married to wonderful man. He is very understanding as well, and very supportive of me. He is also a great photographer as well! It is so important to have people that supports and respects your decisions! I'm a lucky girl!
(WP): What has modeling taught you thus far?
I can't really say that it is modeling that has taught me. So far, it is life that teaches me every day. You got to be confident and love yourself! If there are things you might think you want to change, than do your best and change them.
There is one thing I learned about models though; most of them are actually very smart. Some people seem to think they're not, and that's wrong. They work very hard at keeping in shape and lots of them have full time jobs, as well! They should get more respect and never be judged by others.
(WP): What was the hardest thing for you to overcome when you first started?
The hardest thing is putting you face out there and being seen by the right people and publications.
(WP): How has your training compare to when you model to when you do not? What do you do differently?
I do like to be in good shape all the time. So, it's not only about looking good before a shoot, it is about staying fit at all times.
(WP): What titles and accomplishments have you thus far? Tell me about them.
My first shoot with a pro photographer got me the cover of American Curves Special Glutes in 2006, then my favorite photographer, Marcus Angelo, got me published in magazines like FHM Romania just last year in March issue of 2009. I am also in Ultimate MMA Magazine September 2010, ZOO Weekly Australia in April 2010, and Spire Magazine in 2010. I had 8 pages inside of Girls,Girls,Girls Magazine in 2009; just to name a few. I’ve been featured on many websites including FHM India under Cover Girls of FHM, Maxim.com (Red Hot Valentines and Bikini Girls of Spring Break both this year-2010). I’ve also been a finalist for the Fast and the Furious model Competition, and so many more.
(WP): Where do you see your career and life in 10 years from now?
I want to stay healthy and in shape and be successful in everything I do and, hopefully, inspire as many people as possible!
(WP): Can you tell me any photographers you’ve worked with, or someone you’d like to work with?
I have worked with many, Brian Bartlet who owns Photo Motion Studios, Michael Palmer, Marcus Angelo, Patrick Book, Rich Sigmon, and Bobby G; just to name a few.
I would love to work with Bruno Talleddo, Danny Griffin, Justin Price, Dave Allan and others.
(WP): What are your pet peeves?
I have many but, excuses, procrastination, and people that are flakes. These are some of them. Don't make promises that you cannot keep. Don't say you'll do something, than in the last minute you change your mind, making excuses, unless it really is an emergency!
(WP): What do you consider to be important in life, and why?
To me, it is very important to be a kind human being! Love and respect yourself and one another, and you will feel even better about yourself! Don't be judgmental, don't hate! Learn to love your fellow human being as life is very short. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. It is important to understand that everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect. Also, it is important to set goal so set goals for yourself and do the best you can do to achieve them no matter how hard it is. Follow your dreams, don't let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do.
(WP): What are your stats such as height, weight, biceps, and waist?

Weight: 105 pounds
Stats: 34C/D-25-35

Eyes: Brown

(WP): Could you tell me about your future projects?
