WP: Hello, Randy. Let’s begin with you telling us a little about yourself.
Hi everyone. My name is Randy, I am 24 years old. I started a moving company when I was 19 and continue to grow the business. On the side, I do lawn and landscape, tree service. I buy and sell anything I can get my hands on. I hold a real estate license. I have been playing the guitar for 15 years and hope to someday make it in the music business as well. I am currently 5’10 and 168 lbs. I train for performance not size. I can do a standing back tuck anywhere. I can jump off of a roof and roll away clean. I can walk and jump around on my hands with my feet in the air and I can jump on top of a 5 ft. platform with no running start. I am laid back and just like to hang out and get along with everyone and there is something to be learned from the many different people on the planet.
WP: What was it that made you know without a doubt that you wanted to go into bodybuilding?
I always wanted to look my best, and as soon as I started going to the gym and seeing results I was addicted to the satisfaction I received from it all.
WP: How long have you been lifting?
When I was a little kid about 5 years old I was in my basement with my dad when he trained. I plan to lift weights and stay fit for as long as I shall live.
WP: I hear you will be doing a competition soon.
Yes. I plan on doing my first competition in September, if not sooner.
WP: Do you have any advice to people that wish to build more mass and/or more cut?
Be consistent, stay focused and set goals. If you believe in yourself, you will succeed.
WP: What do you eat in a normal day?
It changes often, but I try to start with a small shake with OJ, 20g of whey and a half of banana, then an hour later I will have a small bowl of cereal.
I snack on something healthy every hour or so. I like apples, protein bars, Slim Jims, peanuts, Wheat Thins, and protein shots.
A sandwich with the finest ingredients for lunch, more snacking, and my favorite dinner right now is cajun baked tilapia with a whatever side I can find, pasta is nice.
I also have a shake right before bed to help me rest; if I get lazy I will just drink chocolate milk.
WP: Do you allow yourself a cheat day?
Yes, I am always on the go and sometimes I cannot help but to cheat.
WP: What supplements do you take?
Protein powder, green tea, ginko biloba, fish oil, vitamin c, and sometimes creatine or nitric oxide for energy.
WP: Could you tell me a story of how you have gotten where you are today?
I teach myself all that I can, every time I learn a new skill in life I apply it to create positive changes. I try to avoid getting stuck in a routine that will stop my income from rising. I am not afraid to take big risks to achieve success. I have had over 20 jobs and leaned from all of them. At a young age I decided to become an entrepreneur.
WP: Do you have anyone you can thank for helping you get where you are?
My parents unknowingly taught me responsibility by making me earn everything I wanted
I work hard for my good looks, Modeling is just one way to be rewarded for it. I would like to also become an actor or stunt man.
WP: Where do you want to be in 5 years?
I really just want to put a little more money away for the future, maybe invest in a few more business ideas and find the right person to settle down and start a family with.
WP: You look great! How do you keep the physique you have? What is the hardest thing for you to face when it comes to keeping your physique?
I never stop working hard, my job is physical and when I’m off the job I am in the gym. My biggest fear is injury because it would slow everything down right now so I must be careful.
WP: Tell me about your future projects. Have any in sight?
I have many talents, I would love to make it big with my music, become an actor or just a high paid model. To be more realistic, I can control the business side of the world a little easier and I plan to expand my moving company, lawn service and start a healthy taco shop.
WP: I understand you worked with John at bbpics.com. What was it like working with him?
John was a very nice guy, he works hard and he takes pride in his work. There aren’t many people that would spend all day in the hot sun and not charge you to help you build a portfolio.
WP: Would you recommend him to your friends? If so, why?
Yes, if you are a model just starting out, he has good insight and connections to get you started in the fitness modeling business.
WP: Are you married, dating, or do you have kids?
Not married, single with no kids. I plan to wait until I am done living my dreams before I need some kids to live through.
WP: Who had the most impact on you growing up?
My dad, I thought he was the strongest man alive and wanted to be just like him. Of course that eventually changes.
WP: What is your work-out regimen?
I try to do 3 or 4 days a week if work permits. I do chest and biceps with heavy weight and low reps one day. Legs another day. Shoulders and back. If I can fit abs somewhere in the week I train them separately because I take my time on the other 3 workouts and don’t have the energy to give my abs a good punch.
WP: Have you played in sports before?
Yes! I am mostly into extreme sports like wakeboarding, snowboarding, and mixed martial arts. I wrestled and played some football in high school. I am good at all sports and I am very competitive but I am always a good sport if I lose.
WP: Anything you would like to see change in the bodybuilding world?
I think people look better without a thick spray tan. Judges should focus more on the muscles and not how they bring their muscles out with color and shine.
WP: What is the funniest story that has happened to you during competitions or while working out?
I took my friend to the gym after he was out drinking the night before and put him through a really tough workout and he must have puked about 15 times while we were there, I am surprised we didn’t get thrown out.
WP: What is your greatest achievement in bodybuilding?
In the last 8 months I have added over 65 pounds to my bench press.
WP: Wow! That’s outstanding! What is the proudest moment of your life?
Maybe when I bought my first home at the age of 21, is my proudest moment. I am still there. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home in a nice neighborhood.
WP: At 21? That tells me you have a good head on your shoulders! What are your interests outside of bodybuilding?
Women, working, extreme sports, and obtaining good philosophy on life.
WP: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I am so focused on myself I lose people because I don’t make them a priority.
WP: You have been a pleasure to interview! Thank you for your time and good luck in your future bodybuilding endeavors!
