As a child Ashley was a huge tom boy. She loved playing sports and being outdoors. She would camp with my dad and play football with her cousins. At the age of 5, her parents put her sister and her in gymnastics. She immediately fell in love with the sport and began competing at the age of 10. In junior high, she joined the volleyball and track team while still competing in club gymnastics.
