Dr. Robert Gioia is the owner of a successful business and great site, www.fitnessfourmula.com. He even went through his own personal transformation; which lead him into this line of work. In addition, he is a practicing dentist, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and ISSA certified nutrition specialist. His passion is helping people achieve their weight loss goals by educating them about the power of food.

WP: It’s great to have you here with us, Rob. What type of activities and sports have you done throughout your life?

As I child, I was into almost every sport imaginable such as soccer, karate, swimming and gymnastics. Of these sports, I excelled at gymnastics and competed at the provincial and national levels. My love for gymnastics lead me to become a NCCP level 2 Certified Artistic Gymnastic and Trampoline Coach. Through University, I continued to coach gymnastics and become more interested in bodybuilding and physique sculpting. Currently, I train for endurance events, mainly marathons and triathlons.

WP: Impressive! How long have you been in this industry?

I have been involved with athletes, either coaching or meal planning, for 20 years.

WP: What do you feel has been your stepping stone to get where you are today?

As a general dentist, I see many patients all day. One thing I’ve noticed is that if someone is generally unhealthy, they also tend to have more oral conditions. One example would be a diabetic. Poorly, controlled diabetics tend to have more periodontal and gum disease. Similarly, I see a connection with obesity and dental caries. The connections are not coincidental. Nutrition plays a very important role in our total health and well being.

WP: I strongly believe that as well. Let’s talk about your company. How did the company, Fitness Fourmula come about? What brought on the interest? That is an outstanding website and it has great information on fitnessfourmula.com by the way.


Thank you. One of the key elements that inspired me to start the Fitness Fourmula was my own transformation. I had always been active with sports and working out, but it wasn't until I learned about food that I could transform my body. As I will discuss later, there a 4 elements that need to be in sync to achieve outstanding results.

WP: There are a lot of programs out there. What makes yours different than the rest?

The focus of my program is physique shaping through changing body composition. Weekly reporting of body fat percentage, along with scale weight, is used to dictate dietary changes.

Every meal plan is individualized to the person and is based on their goals. My goal is to also educate the person how to make correct choices when they are in situations beyond their control. I teach people how to deal with vacations and special occasions. Every individual gets unlimited access to me for the duration of their program.

WP: You do this program strictly online? How can people contact you?

Yes. The program is strictly online. They can contact me through my website. After initial goals are set and fees discussed, I will send them a package on how to get started.

WP: Tell me the story behind how your company got its name.

During my own transformation, I noticed 4 key aspects that were necessary for extreme results. They are: diet, exercise, nutrient timing, and education. When these four factors are in sync, remarkable results occur.

WP: Does your company offer anything such as shirts or products?

We do have a clothing line and products coming soon.

WP: Do you train people inside and outside of the US?

People can access my program is worldwide!

WP: What clientele is your main focus?

I will work with anyone who wants to improve their physique; whether it is general weight loss or getting ripped! I will refer anyone requiring a medical diet or competitive bodybuilding diet to a wonderful physician that I work with.

WP: Are there different price ranges of your program?

My program prices vary with length of commitment and goals. Generally, the longer the commitment, the less per month. Normally, fees range from $60.00 - $100 a month. I will also create a one-time meal plan with instructions for a one-time fee. Again, this is based on complexity and time.

WP: That’s not bad considering it may change your entire life! What has been your driving force that got you and your company to where you are today?

My enjoyment for helping people and see people improve their health has been my driving force. I currently have helped one client go from 20% to 13% body fat in about 6 months. Currently, he finished his first marathon and is training for a half ironman in August!

WP: Amazing! What the most asked question about your program? Explain and answer.

People often ask me if my program is a diet. My program is a lifestyle. I do not restrict any type of foods. Obviously, there are foods that are better than others, but I teach people how to eat to maximize results.

WP: I’ve got to ask a person question. Are you married or do you have kids?

No, I am not married and do not have any kids. I do have 2 beautiful nieces from my sister!

WP: Before we end this interview, I’d like to ask one more question. What do you have to say to any skeptics out there, if there are any, of course?

My program is based on physiological responses your body has when it eats certain types of food. Essentially food is a drug, and I will teach you how to use it properly! I’m living proof!
