"...My advice for girls who are competing for the first time is to always prepare the best you can and don't listen to everyone’s opinion. It is hard to please everybody!"

WP: Hi Timea! I am so excited you were able to do this interview! Let’s get started! Tell me about yourself. You were very active growing up; what sports were you involved in?

I was born in Slovakia. My mom is Slovakian and my dad is Hungarian so I speak both languages. I was very athletic from young age. I loved sports like running, swimming, skiing, and kayaking. I studied in a secondary medical school in Bratislava and graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy.

WP: When did you first pick up a weight? When did you become interested in competing in Fitness?

I first pick up weight at age 10, but I became serious about weight training when I was 18. I watched my first Fitness Show on TV in Slovakia at age 18 and the next year I entered!

WP: Do you recall your first Fitness Competition? Tell me about that experience!

My first Fitness show was a lot of fun for me. I enjoyed it! I remember we had an evening gown round also. I placed second at the Slovakian Championship which was my first competition. I enjoyed competing in Fitness because I loved the routine round. It was always exciting to put the music, outfit and the acrobatics together.

WP: Taking second place in your first show is an amazing feat! What kept you interested in competing?

I loved weight training right away and I liked how my body was changing. So, after my first competition I knew I wanted to continue to compete. I wanted to become a champion and go to California to become a Pro.

WP: Did you ever consider competing in Figure?

I competed in Fitness as a Pro for 4 years. I competed in 4 Olympias and won many Pro shows. I felt that I reached my goals and I was ready to do something different. The next year, the Figure category started, but I was ready to move on.

WP: Do you ever miss competing?

I missed competing in the beginning, but now I am working together with a promoter in Europe (Hungary) and we put on a Timea Majorova Fit & Beauty Model Competition every year. I am happy to find new talents and have my own show.

WP: Do you think you’ll step back onstage again?

Never say never! But, for now, I am busy with projects other than competition.

WP: What advice do you have for someone interested in competing for the first time?

My advice for girls who are competing for the first time is to always prepare the best you can and don't listen to everyone’s opinion. It is hard to please everybody!

WP: Do you have a preference: cardio or weight training?

I love intense weight training and I like doing cardio outdoors.

WP: How does your current training differ from when you were preparing for competition?

When I was competing, my training was focused on building and keeping muscle. Now, I want to be lean and I don't need to be muscular anymore. I train intensely with circuit routines and I do a lot of outdoor activities.

WP: Eating clean and healthy is a way of life for you. Do you ever allow yourself a cheat day?

Yes! Sundays are my cheat days.

WP: What is your favorite cheat food? How about your favorite healthy food?

My favorite cheat food is a hot chocolate sundae brownie! My favorite healthy food is a fresh fish with rice.

WP: What does your current training routine look like?

My current training routine is upper body on day one, lower body on day two and then a day off. I train intensely and I perform 10-12 exercises altogether. I also do cardio 5 times a week.

WP: You have a very interesting training approach: the 3-2-1 Priority Training System. Can you explain?

The 3-2-1 Priority Training System is a training philosophy I use in order to kick start fat-burning potential. I train the largest muscle first in almost every training session.

3 Points: Legs, quads, hamstrings, glutes
2 Points: Back and chest
1 Points: Shoulders, triceps, biceps, calves, abs

WP: Do you remember the feeling of seeing yourself in a magazine for the first time? How about your first cover?

When I saw myself in a magazine for the first time, it was very overwhelming and exciting! My first cover was a big deal because I knew how hard it was to get the cover. It was so motivating for me that I was working on myself even harder to be even better. I would look at the cover so many times!

WP: Now, you have graced countless magazine covers and covered multiple Olympias for ESPN. What other fitness ventures have you been a part of since retiring from competition?

When I retired from competing, I had a contract with a cosmetic company in Italy for 3 years. So, I was traveling a lot to Europe to promote it. Now, I am working with a company called Endless Youth and Life. They have many great products and services and even a store in Beverly Hills. My favorite product they made for me was a fat burner called Pretty Fit. All the products are high quality products full of antioxidants and vitamins.

WP: You are so busy! What ventures, fitness or otherwise, would you like to get involved in?

I still love fitness and would love to have my own fitness show in the US!

WP: That is a show I would love to see! Let’s get personal: Are you married? Where do you currently reside?

I have lived in LA for 14 years now and I am in a committed relationship.

WP: What does a typical day in the life of Timea look like?

A typical day for me is: I get up, have breakfast and check my emails, train clients, eat lunch, have meetings, train myself, and then have dinner. Sometimes, I cannot train my clients because I am doing photo shoots or traveling.

WP: What would you like to see yourself doing 10 years from now?

In 10 years from now, I would like to be doing the same things I am doing now, only I would like to have kids and be taking care of them, teaching them sports and doing sports together.

WP: What do you like to do in your down time?

In my free time I love traveling and visiting my family in Slovakia, doing sports, learning new sports, and reading.

WP: Timea, thank you again for doing this interview! You are such an inspiration to so many. We look forward to seeing what you’ll be doing next!
